Brockbanks was first founded in 1769. Our head office, based in Whitehaven, has been a part of the West Cumbrian Community for over 230 years.

Through various mergers, Brockbanks have become one of the largest law firms in West Cumbria. The most recent merger in 2007 with Keswick based firm Oglethorpe & Broatch ensures that we are able to provide even better levels of service and further broaden our depths of expertise.

We consider that it is important at a time when many services are being centralised and taken out of the area, that local people are still able to access expert advice from local solicitors.

Brockbanks has evolved into a modern, vibrant firm with a forward looking attitude. We have a strong, dynamic and committed workforce, from highly experienced lawyers right through to younger solicitors, trainees and paralegal staff.

The firm recognises the role that new technology has to play in maintaining and enhancing its quality of service to clients and has therefore made a substantial investment in the acquisition of information technology.

All five offices are linked by private network and all have e mail and data transfer capabilities which facilitates the rapid movement of information and documents throughout the firm and to clients.
